About Shay Stanton Shwahla
Creative Solutions Counseling is the private psychotherapy practice of Shay Stanton Shwahla, LCSW. Created in 1999, its mission is to provide personalized, high-quality, psychotherapy services.
Shay Stanton Shwahla, LCSW has been providing out-patient psychotherapy services since 1991. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology at West Virginia University. She then went on to receive her Master of Social Work, in Direct Practice and Casework, at Rutger’s University. Shay is a Certified School Social Worker and an approved supervisor for any New Jersey LSW. She is a member of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW), EMDR International Association (EMDRIA), and the Association for Comprehensive Energy Psychology (ACEP).
Shay has always had a holistic orientation to her work, believing in the Mind-Body-Spirit connection. As she progressed in her career, she sought out training in modalities that approached treatment from that perspective, including Biofeedback training, EMDR, and most recently Pranic Healing and Mindfulness. Meditation, exercise and proper nutrition are usually discussed with each client as well as drug and alcohol use.
Shay works with adults, adolescents, young adults, couples and families. Shay will assess you or your family’s goals, and will create a customized plan to help you reach them.
